Armadillidium vulgare is one of the hardiest isopods in the hobby, tolerating humidity swings and minor husbandry mistakes that would stress more delicate species. Keep roughly a third to half of the enclosure lightly damp with sphagnum moss and the rest dry leaf litter; no heating is required at normal room temperature. Reproduction is slower than Porcellio or Porcellionides, but colonies are very stable once established.
